Students from Calera High School got the opportunity to board a vintage train and ride through the scenic forests of Shelby County. Fun was had by all as they assisted at the Heart of Dixie Pumpkin Patch Express. The Calera High students were responsible for helping pre-school and elementary school age students visit the Great Pumpkin, take a hayride, bounce in the inflatables bounce house, and participate in other activities such as visiting the maze, tattoo, bubble, and color stations.

| The Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum’s collection contains pieces spanning the time period from as early as 1890 and as late as 2005. The collection contains ordinary pieces such as cabooses and flatcars along with unique pieces such as club cars, passenger coaches, a diner and a rare domed observation car. |
