Southern Roots and Blooms Columbiana,Al.
SCHS students get the opportunity to learn about the business and retail end of running a garden/gift shop, They got to experience the receiving of inventory, unloading a truck filled with plants/shrubbery, and participated in plant care.

Turning Points Tour Samford University, Birmingham
We were able to learn about the Turning Points Program offered on the campus of Samford University. Turning Points is a wonderful transition program designed for students ages 18-21. The purpose is to develop life skills, social communication, and employability skills through instruction and job-training opportunities through a partnership with Mountain Brook Schools and Samford. Opportunities are provided through various activities on campus for students to interact with typical peers in a natural setting.

April YAiT Meeting
We were excited to host for the first time-students from all 7 Shelby Co High Schools,Thompson High, and Project Search. Over 75 students participated in large and small group break- out sessions. Our two keynote speakers were Mark Lucas, Interactive Rhythm, and Kerry Mataya from Bridgeway Services. Students selected two from a choice of 5 small group sessions: Student led IEP's, Interview skills, Online applications, Interactive Music Therapy, and 3 Steps to Sucess. The students and guests were treated to a lunch from Chubbs's Grub that was made possible by The Alabama Council of Developmental Disabilities.
