Heart of Dixie Pumpkin Patch- Calera, AL

Students from Calera High School got the opportunity to board a vintage train and ride through the scenic forests of Shelby County. Fun was had by all as they assisted at the Heart of Dixie Pumpkin Patch Express. The Calera High students were responsible for helping pre-school and elementary school age students visit the Great Pumpkin, take a hayride, bounce in the inflatables bounce house, and participate in other activities such as visiting the maze, tattoo, bubble, and color stations.

Our Calera High School student puts her culinary skills to the test by assisting with food prep for catering and the lunch crowd by cutting up vegetables and fruits, making cake balls, and mixing chicken salad.

Uptown Salon- Helena,AL

Uptown Salon is a full-service hair salon located in Old Town Helena. Our Helena High School student had the opportunity to observe stylists and learn about the different aspects of jobs associated with running a salon and small business. This included folding towels and smocks, stocking, and cleaning up work-spaces.

Buck Creek Stained Glass- Helena, AL

Buck Creek Stained Glass, is the Southeast's leader in restoration and repair of stained glass. We are honored for owner, David Schleuter, to work with our Helena High School student and share some of his expertise in creating a beautiful "masterpiece." Our student learned that steps involved are tedious and very time consuming. This has definitely given him a greater appreciation for the artistic skill and craftsmanship involved.
 The student was involved in almost every process from creating the design, choosing the glass, cutting out the pattern, gluing the pattern to the glass, arranging, soldering, and brushing patina on the metal.

Wash It Off Car Wash- Helena,AL

It may be fall. but the sun is shining and the temperatures are still hot! Our Helena High School students are busy with a steady stream of vehicles at Wash It Off Express car wash. They do the prep work before directing the customers into the "straight drive-in".

YB's Daylight Donuts-Inverness,AL

YB's Daylight Donuts serves as a learning laboratory for our Oak Mountain High School student. He stocks products, helps distribute donuts, and assists in break down after the business closes.

Southern Roots and Blooms- Columbiana,AL

Oak Mountain and Chelsea High School students from the College and Career Center  learned about the business aspect of receiving orders, checking inventory, and loading mums for delivery to the Old Baker Farm for the Pumpkin Patch. Several area schools are also using the sale of the mums for fund raisers.

Buck Creek Stained Glass, the Southeast’s leader in the expert restoration and repair of stained glass, is located in the heart of historic Old Town Helena. Our Helena High student under the supervision of owner, David Schleuter, has begun the process of creating his own creation by designing and cutting patterns.
