Blissful Boutique of MT Laurel is a modern boutique featuring high fashion clothing, shoes, and accessories for women. Our CHHS student helped size the clothing and did a great job accessorizing.

Blue Rain Express Car Wash- Hoover,AL

The sunshine brings out the cars at Blue Rain Express Car Wash off of Hwy 280/119. Our OMHS student helps wash the mats and detail for those that come in for the Manager's Special.

School House Granola- Special Services Center-Pelham,AL

The students from CHHS and SCHS are back in the kitchen, working alongside Chef Sean, to make a batch of Schoolhouse Granola samples for the Shelby County Schools Showcase.

Blue Rain Car Wash- Hoover,AL

Even though storms were in the forecast, sunshine and 75 degrees brought out the customers today to Blue Rain Car Wash. Our Oak Mountain High student participated in Community Based Work Instruction by washing, folding, and stocking "detailing" clothes as well as assisting with the Manager's Special Service.

Area 41 Pizza-MT Laurel

It was our OMHS student's last day of Work Instruction at Area 41 Pizza . She was able to train the new Chelsea High student in prepping for Area 41's lunch opening. Area 41 Pizza Company is located along its namesake, Highway 41, in MT Laurel where owner and Birmingham native,Patrick Hankins, has a passion for making authentic New York style pizza.
  

Pure Bliss Salon- MT Laurel

Our OMHS student assisted the girls' today at Pure Bliss. She was also able to train our new CHHS student in the many day-to-day responsibilities and tasks of running a successful salon.

Pure Bliss Salon Spa is a full service salon offering hair, nail,and aesthetic services.  Located in the beautiful town of MT Laurel, they are open Tuesday- Saturday at 15 MT Laurel Ave. (205) 538-5972.

Spoon & Ladle- Pelham,AL

The Shelby County High students helped label hundreds of containers for the weekly from-scratch artisan soups produced at Spoon & Ladle. Chef Monty and his team prepare a variety of high quality soups in small batches several times each week including Shrimp and Crab Gumbo and Italian Wedding. You can find Spoon & Ladle's products in area stores and restaurants throughout the Birmingham area.

Area 41 Pizza- MT Laurel, AL

Our OMHS student helped Area 41 Pizza prep for their lunch opening.

Area 41 Pizza Company is located along its namesake Highway 41 in Mt. Laurel. Owner and Birmingham native,Patrick Hankins, has a passion for making authentic New York style pizza.

  

Jeff State Culinary & Hospitality Institute- Hoover,AL

Missie, Kenny, and Jason are some of the wonderful people that work to make the C&H Institute a success. Kenneth Moore, Purchasing Manager/Instructor, works with our OMHS student weekly. We appreciate the time he takes to make this a true hands-on learning experience.

The hydroponic garden is flourishing and continues to get bigger each week. We were also introduced to a sous vide cooker. What is a sous vide- you may ask? It is the process of sealing food in an airtight container—usually a vacuum sealed bag—and then cooking that food in temperature-controlled water. In French, the term translates to "under vacuum," which makes sense.

These SCHS students look like they are having too much fun at Spoon & Ladle helping Chef Monty Todd label containers for the weekly soups that are produced.   Spoon and Ladle prepares a variety of high quality soups in small batches several times each week featuring Shrimp and Crab Gumbo and She Crab Soup this week.

Our OMHS experienced his first day of Work Instruction at Blue Rain today. He was able to assist with car detailing and also laundered the drying clothes to be placed at vacuum stations.

School House Granola at the MT Laurel Spring Festival- MT Laurel, AL

School House Granola was excited to participate this year in the MT Laurel Spring Festival.

 Work Instructor, Laura Partain, and a Chelsea High School student

 introduced School House Granola's Fruit and Nut blend to the festival goers.

The CHHS student has experienced the Granola Project from the initial baking process to marketing and selling.

Our OMHS student continues to shadow Chef Kenny Moore, Purchasing Manager/Instructor for the Culinary and Hospitality Institute. He is learning about what it takes to purchase/receive for the program and Bistro ProVare. Today he helped inventory produce and meats/seafood.
