Highland Gourmet Scones- Pelham, AL

Today was our Oak Mountain High School student's last day of Community Based Work Instruction at Highland Gourmet Scones. Thank you to owners Lee and Katy Caldwell for allowing our students to experience the day- to- day operations of a locally owned small business.

The OMHS student helped label individual bags- keeping packaging replenished. He has also become quite the expert at placing the Highland crest on the paper bags... giving this Work Instructor "instruction" on the fine art of the perfect stamp.
Today's scone flavors included: Original Golden Raisin; Lemon Blueberry; Orange Cranberry; Hazelnut Creme Chocolate Chip; Cafe Mocha; Cherry Amaretto; and Toasted Coconut.

The Alabama cold weather continues, but our students are still busy with a steady stream of vehicles at Wash It Off Express Car Wash.

It may be cloudy and cold, but the cars at Blue Rain Car Wash are coming out bright and shiny today. Our OMHS student continued to learn about business operations and the various services available to customers. Did you know Blue Rain Express is one of the most technologically advanced car washes in the United States? Every single aspect of their concept, from the kinds of biodegradable chemicals, to their ability to reclaim and recycle the water used, was designed to be more environmentally friendly.
