             We were able to report at the Alabama State Interagency Transition Team and give an update on the Granola Project. SITT is a multidisciplinary group of representatives from over 20 state agencies and organizations providing services for youth and young adults with disabilities.

Magic City Daylight Donuts- Hoover, AL

Stocking and cleaning are just some of the many things that are involved in closing prep for the Valleydale location of Magic City Donuts. Our CHHS student has done an excellent job making sure everything is ready for the next day. Magic City is open bright and early at 6:00 a.m. Tuesday-Sunday.

Highland Gourmet Scones- Pelham,AL




 After the Valentine rush last week at Highland Gourmet  Scones,  our Oak Mountain High School student  helped place labels and replenish the small bags needed to encase the scones. Hazelnut Chocolate Chip, Coconut, Original Golden Raisin, Lemon Blueberry, and Orange Cranberry were the flavor options going out today.

Transition Unlimited is an Alabama pre‐employment transition services (Pre‐ETS) initiative designed to build capacity and connect services to implement pre‐employment transition services throughout the state. The goal of the initiative is to provide guidance to transition stakeholders and local education agencies during the development of action plans for the delivery of Pre-ETS that best meet the needs of students with disabilities who are eligible or potentially eligible for vocational rehabilitation services. All of the SC secondary schools met over a two-day period to develop action plans to implement these services.

Magic City Daylight Donut- Hoover,AL




Our Chelsea High School student assists the manager of Daylight Donuts in  preparation for closing. He also "breaks-down" the store afterwards by stocking, cleaning, and washing/lining trays making sure everything is ready for the bakers when they arrive bright and early the next day.

Magic City Daylight Donuts- Hoover, AL



Magic City Daylight Donuts serves as a learning laboratory for our Chelsea High School student. He stocks products, helps distribute donuts, and assists in break down after the business closes. This non-paid work instruction gives  valuable insight on how a small business operates on a daily basis.
      Magic City Daylight Donuts located on Valleydale  is open from 6:00am-1:00pm Tuesday- Sunday .

Alabama Childhood Food Solutions- Sylacauga, AL



Feeding hungry families...One smile at a time.. Alabama Childhood Food Solutions provides food to over 600 families in Shelby, Coosa, and South Talladega counties. Our Vincent  and Chelsea High students learn that it truly is "better to give than receive!"

Jeff State Pioneer Bookstore- Hoover, AL


Cheryl, manager of the Jeff State Pioneer Bookstore, helped orient our Oak Mountain High school student to the daily job tasks of running the bookstore. He stocked textbooks and supplies and got the opportunity to scan items at the register.
